Butler implemented a recycling program in 2009 in order to reduce both energy consumption and office waste. Beginning in 2012, we expanded our program by recycling even more items. The new effort includes additional recycling bins throughout our Tampa office. Our employees are proud of the positive impact on the environment.
We currently recycle paper, plastic, aluminum and glass. We use recycled printer toner cartridges, and we re-use and recycle electronics. We also purchase many biodegradable items for our kitchen, and our light bulbs are energy-star rated, which uses two-thirds less energy than regular lighting. Our Tampa office will also recycle batteries; reuses folders, binders and red-wells; and encourages the use of more electronic documents.
In the first quarter of 2012, we recycled 10,500 pounds of paper, 85 pounds of cardboard and 80 pounds of aluminum!
